Discover Barnard Castle Junior Summer Camp

Deep in the rolling country side of North East England, you will discover Barnard Castle, a traditional English boarding school, and the home to our popular Barnard Castle Junior Summer Camp!

These past two years, the summer camp has been a flying success and we are already working hard to make the next summer camp the best yet! Everyone at Your Project Future is very excited for next summer and here's why you should be too;

Barnard Castle is located in County Durham, an area of England that is renowned for its spectacular views of the country side and unrivaled beauty. The school is situated in Teesdale, which is within the North Pennies Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The school owns 50 acres of land with incredible sporting facilities that have produced Various England International rugby players such as Rob Andrew, Rory and Tony Underwood and Matthew Tait. Students will also be able to take advantage of these state of the art facilities during their time at Barnard Castle particularly those who take part in the Paris Saint Germain Academy England.

Just near Barnard Castle, there are the towns Darlington and Richmond. Darlington is the home of the first ever steam locomotive powered train, and has various shops and restaurants scattered all throughout the town. Richmond, the 'UK town of the year 2009' is a beautiful and historic market town that has been described as 'the most romantic place in the whole of the North East of England'. With its stunning architecture, large cobbled marketplace and impressive Richmond Castle, it's easy to fall in love with this town. Students will be able to explore this town and all it has to offer, and also learn about the famous legend of the Drummer Boy.

Barnard Castle is ideally located near various major cities like Newcastle, Leeds, York and Durham. There will be field trips for the students to these wonderful northern cities, and they can soak up the culture and history as well as taking full advantage of the shopping facilities in these cities. There will be various trips to museums and various monuments, like the Angel of the North and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Durham University and Cathedral where scenes from Harry Potter were filmed! Students will also be able to visit the famous Lake District, a gorgeous part of England that is one of the most beautiful areas of nature in the whole of the UK, with various walks and hiking and other outdoor activities the students can get involved in.
